Key customers include commercial shipping, oil/gas, cruise, and government vessels.About the roleWe are seeking a detail-oriented

Project Design Engineer

to join our team. This engineer will lead projects from release to shipment, creating mechanical and electrical drawings for production as well as technical documentation for the customer. Projects are engineered to order and span from fully custom seawater cooled condensing units to commercial off the shelf Carrier equipment modified to meet customer specifications. Projects are unique and challenging. As the project lead you will gain knowledge and experience in many different areas of engineering, manufacturing, service, and business.Key Responsibilities:Research and selection of refrigeration and electrical componentry.Basic analysis and calculations.Creation of mechanical and electrical technical drawings using AutoCAD.Creation and delivery of customer technical documentation.Monitoring of project schedules.Identify and react to project problems and recommend solutions.Directly communicate with external customers and provide technical support.Support customer/marine dealers for all Carrier products.Interface with Manufacturing personnel to ensure design/build meets customers’ requirements.Effectively present findings and correction actions to customers.Basic QualificationsAssociate or a College Degree with 5+ years of mechanical/electrical design, and drafting experience, ORBS degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electro-mechanical with 3+ years of mechanical/electrical design, and drafting experience, ORMS degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electro-mechanical with 1+ years of mechanical/electrical design, and drafting experience.Preferred Qualifications (assets)Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).Strong communication skills and technical writing skills.Organized with strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities.Strong follow-up and follow-through skills to meet project deadlines and satisfy customer needs.Must be able to prioritize work to meet customer needs.Experience leading project teams or multiple small to mid-sized projects.Experience with computer-aided drafting tools such as AutoCAD.Solid knowledge of air conditioning, refrigeration design, heat transfer, fan systems and electronic control systems.Ability to troubleshoot and solve HVAC system problems, electronic controls function in HVAC equipment, refrigeration, compression is desired.Experience with Carrier residential/commercial, or industrial HVAC components, products, systems, and controls is desirable.Must be a self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and work independently under minimal direction.Additional informationSponsorship is not supported for this position.Pay Range:
