What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Equity Derivatives Lead Developer in New York, NY (multiple positions available):

Analyze, design, test and implement risk components in a highly distributed, low latency platform.

Use knowledge of Java, Spring, Reactive IO, Zero MQ, and other low latency technologies to implement new components for the strategic platform.

Development of Risk and PnL components dealing directly with quant libraries.

Work on revenue generating business projects for the Flow Derivatives Desk.

Analyze and review quality and information related to process and jobs to optimize processes to achieve hardware efficiencies.

Analyze existing systems and identify low performance jobs, rewriting and redesigning to improve performance as needed.

Responsible for writing automated test scripts using Junit and SPOCK frameworks.

Face time with traders, Quants and other business users both for understanding new feature requests and providing support.

Provide second-tier support by debugging and analyzing platform defects that confront Traders and other business users.

Manage one (1) direct report, overseeing their work to ensure business deliverables are met timely and accurately.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $212,500 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $263,750 per year

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.

Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.

Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.

Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
