CPNYC’s mission is to support and advocate for the children of incarcerated parents while speaking out against root causes that affect the communities we serve, including systemic racism, poverty. and bias in our nation’s criminal justice system. CPNYC has successfully developed an innovative model, the only one of its kind in New York City, which co-locates a licensed mental health clinic and children's centers in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, and the South Bronx. CPNYC provides an array of youth development programming and services tailored to each child's individual strengths and challenges and fosters a unique uplifting environment to foster hope and resilience.

Position Overview : We are a mission-driven organization using Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and Mailchimp to enhance our donor engagement and outreach efforts. Our goal is to drive impactful donor interactions and fundraising success through personalized, segmented communication via email and SMS. We are seeking a part-time Nonprofit Email and SMS Specialist to manage segmented donor outreach and help increase donor engagement and retention. As a Part-Time Nonprofit Email and SMS Specialist, you will work closely with our fundraising, marketing, and technology teams to design and execute targeted donor outreach campaigns. Using Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and Mailchimp, you will create and manage donor segments, automate communication journeys, and optimize email and SMS outreach to maximize donor engagement and contributions.

Essential Job Functions

Email & SMS Campaign Execution:

Develop and execute segmented email and SMS campaigns via Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and Mailchimp.

Design and manage automated donor journeys using both platforms to ensure personalized and consistent communication throughout the donor lifecycle.

Collaborate with the fundraising team to align messaging with donor interests and campaign objectives.

Segmentation & Personalization:

Build and maintain donor segments based on engagement history, donation behaviors, and preferences within Salesforce and Mailchimp.

Use data-driven insights to personalize messaging and increase donor engagement and conversion rates.

Perform A/B testing on subject lines, content, and delivery timing to optimize communication strategies.

Performance Tracking & Optimization:

Monitor the performance of email and SMS campaigns across Salesforce and Mailchimp, analyzing key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.

Provide regular reports on the effectiveness of segmented outreach and recommend improvements to optimize performance.

Continuously refine segmentation strategies based on data and campaign outcomes.

Platform Expertise:

Manage and maintain email and SMS templates within both Salesforce and Mailchimp, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.

Troubleshoot any issues related to email and SMS campaign delivery.

Stay current with the latest features and best practices for donor engagement on both platforms.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Proven experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and Mailchimp, specifically in managing email and SMS campaigns.

Must have nonprofit experience in donor outreach, fundraising, or communication.

Experience in donor segmentation, email and SMS marketing, and building automated communication journeys.

Strong knowledge of email and SMS best practices, particularly in a nonprofit or fundraising context.

Proficiency in A/B testing, performance tracking, and optimization techniques across Salesforce and Mailchimp.

Excellent communication and writing skills, with a focus on creating engaging donor communications.

COMPENSATION:

Commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. The hourly rate for this position is $35.00 - $40.00 per hour.
