Education:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as computer science, information technology, or network engineering is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on Juniper and/or Palo Alto & Panorama technologies, and network security.Proven experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is essential.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in Juniper and/or Palo Alto firewall technologies, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting.Proficiency in Panorama for centralized firewall management.Strong knowledge of network security principles, including firewall rules, intrusion detection/prevention, and threat management.Proven experience in configuring, managing, and optimizing SASE solutions such as Prisma Access or similar cloud-based secure access platforms.Understanding of network routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, VLANs).Knowledge of VPN technologies and remote access solutions.Familiarity with network security best practices and compliance standards.Network monitoring and management tools expertise (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).Proficiency in cloud-native networking concepts, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) in AWS and Virtual Network (VNet) in Azure and cloud connectivity options, including VPNs, Direct Connect, and ExpressRoute, to establish secure and efficient network connections between on-premises and cloud environments.
Certifications:
Juniper certification is a must (e.g., JNCIE, JNCIP, JNCIS).Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE) are highly desirable.Any other relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+) can be a plus.
Managed Service Provider (MSP) Experience:
Prior experience working in or with MSPs, understanding the unique challenges and requirements of providing network services to external clients.Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
Communication and Teamwork:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, team members, and management.Ability to clearly and concisely articulate both technical and non-technical concepts to third parties.Ability to work collaboratively in a team and to lead projects when required.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.Capacity to proactively identify potential network problems and propose solutions.
Willingness to adapt and apply evolving technologies and industry best practices.Ability to multitask and work under stress.Certifications and Training:
A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to obtain additional certifications and training as needed.
Documentation:
Effective documentation skills for network configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and client communication.
Project Management:
Experience with project management methodologies and the ability to manage multiple network-related projects effectively.
Availability and On-Call Responsibilities:
Be prepared for on-call duties and flexible work hours to address network issues and emergencies while minimizing business impact.
Business and Client Focus:
Understand the business objectives of the MSP and the importance of providing high-quality service to clients.
