IT Infrastructure Engineer - Hybrid Cloud Overview:

The IT Infrastructure Engineer - Hybrid Cloud is responsible for support and troubleshooting of existing on-premises infrastructure platforms (VMWare virtualization, Windows Active Directory, network routing and switching) and work on migration of existing on-premises applications to cloud services, primarily in Microsoft Azure.

IT Infrastructure Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Engage with software development team and business area users on projects to re-architect legacy on-premises applications for cloud.

Support of existing Azure cloud infrastructure including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Desktops, Azure Networking and ExpressRoute, Storage Accounts.

Support Microsoft 365 cloud services (Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune, Sharepoint Online, Teams).

Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement changes with on-premises networking including layer-2 switching, layer-3 routing, DNS, NAT, and IP security rules.

Support existing on-premises data center infrastructure including Cisco switches, Cisco Unified Computing System, EMC storage arrays, fibre-channel SAN, firewalls and provider data circuits.

Support existing office switching and wireless infrastructure (Cisco IOS and Meraki).

Support Microsoft Windows based infrastructure services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Authority, Windows Server OS, IIS and System Center Configuration Manager.

Responding to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.

Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.

Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience with Azure public cloud concepts, support and implementation including virtual networking, virtual hosts, cloud services and governance best practices.

Experience with re-architecting on-premises legacy applications for cloud-native deployment.

Thorough understanding of network principles and troubleshooting including route/switch, wireless networking and network security (CCNA or equivalent a plus).

Windows Server and Active Directory.

Knowledge of VoIP implementation and support (Experience with Genesys PureCloud a plus).

Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner, both written and verbal.

Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
