Our foodservice business supplies many of the top restaurant chains in the United States.Overview:The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for managing the transportation of all materials, raw & finished goods, in a manner that meets service and on-time delivery expectations at the lowest landed cost. The Ops Manager will ensure that lanes are assigned to strategic carriers and manage their KPI metrics. The Ops Manager will serve as an escalation point for Ops Specialists, while also coaching and developing them. This role is both a strategic and tactical position that requires forward thought and insight combined with being a coach/player.Responsibilities:Lead team of operations specialists and transportation analyst(s), including strategic guidance, career planning, training, and personal developmentManage process and design of transportation planning and shipment management for inbound, outbound, and intracompany shipments.Partner with customer service in solution design for customer delivery on-time performance based on customer requirements and scorecards.Interface with internal & external warehouses and production sites to ensure transportation design to accommodate location requirements and drive service exceeding expectations.Manage operational interaction with Marzetti carriers & brokers to ensure carrier partners are aligned and executing to strategic goals and service requirements.Drive accountability with carrier partners to achieve mutual cost, service and financial goals.Conduct site visits at Marzetti facilities to share and collect feedback and collaborate on transportation solutions.Assist in conducting business reviews with carriers.Root cause internal & external disruptions and lead strategic solutions to minimize exceptions once disruptions are identified.Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience requiredPreferred 5+ years of logistics/transportation experienceExperience working with/for 3rd party transportation providers preferredAbility to lead others and set clear goals and objectivesStrong written, verbal, and listening skillsHigh results-orientationManhattan experience preferred
