Job Summary The Senior Administrative Assistant will provide a high-level of administrative support and independently perform non-routine administrative functions exercising discretion, such as coordinate events, conduct searches for information, prepare reports or handle special projects. In this role, you will maintain relationships with internal partners (including Human Resources, Business Office, Risk Management, Sponsored Programs, Purdue Center for Regional Development, Department of Agricultural Economics, and Ag Pre-Award) and external partners, draft and edit correspondence, promotional materials or presentations, monitor operating budget and maintain financial records as well as handle non-routine inquiries and issues from internal and external sources. What You'll Be Doing: Maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and collecting and providing support materials. Developing, implementing, and maintaining/improving processes related to administrative support operations (e.g., records maintenance, data collection and maintenance, etc.) Arranging travel, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper functioning of office equipment Updating and maintaining mailing lists, databases and websites Mentoring and/or training other support staff What We're Looking For: High school diploma/GED 3 years of experience in an administrative support role Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc. Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions Drafting, proofreading and editing skills What We'd Like You to Know: This position has a hybrid work schedule Purdue will not sponsor work authorization for this position.
