Job Summary:Under general direction, administers the general accounting and patient business services, including third-party reimbursement, financial and statistical reporting functions of the hospital, in accordance with established policies and accounting procedures.What you will do in this role:Complies and records Medicare contractuals in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
Prepare for close process all monthly journal entries for accuracy and completeness, performed timely would like to increase
overall competency
Reviews all check requests for correct account coding, appropriate signatures, and appropriate supporting documentation
Prepare assigned balance sheet account reconciliations for accuracy and follows up on reconciling items by the following
month
Assists in preparing year end Medicare work papers
Prepares annual External Audit work papers accurately and timely
Prepares annual corporate tax and SEC work papers accurately and timely
Reviews assigned general ledger accounts during month end close accurately and timely
Ensures staff are properly equipped and trained on all computer applications and hardware
Serves as back up for Controller when Controller is absent
Performs other related functions as assigned
Maintains a log of all Manual checks (AP and Payroll)
Other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:Bachelors Degree
3+ years experience preferred in healthcare accounting
Demonstrated success and abilities in leadership, achieving results, communications, customer service and health care management. Spreadsheets, PC, mainframes.
