Position Summary:
Working with the Director and members of the Prospect Development and Information Strategy team, the Prospect Development Coordinator serves as a member of the team to manage departmental operations, conduct research and contribute to pipeline development, perform data management functions, participate in prospect management activities, and to work on additional projects as needed. The Prospect Development Coordinator performs a variety of regularly scheduled as well as ad-hoc research, writing, data management, and other departmental tasks to fulfill departmental requests and to deliver and distribute relevant and timely information on constituents, donors, alums, prospects, etc. The Prospect Development Coordinator possesses strong project management, organizational, technology, database, and research skills and has the ability to evaluate and compile information, and transform acquired data into concise written narratives and reports.

Position Responsibilities:
Department Administration
Manages research and data management vendor relationships including contracts, invoices, billing, etc. and assists with implementation of vendor tools and services.Organizes and participates in the content development for department functions, including meetings, retreats, trainings, presentations, interviews, etc.Develops, maintains, and updates the department's content for division-wide use on the intranet - Inside Advancement - and elsewhere.Research and Prospect Identification
Participates in the production of the daily newsletter disseminating information on constituents including BNC members, Friends, undergraduate alumni, graduate alumni, and prospects, on issues ranging from life events, to career changes, to philanthropic giving, etc.Researches, collects, and records philanthropic data on selected donors and prospects using free and fee-based resources and write concise biographical summaries on selected donors and prospects.Participates in and eventually manage a variety of prospecting projects, reviewing and assessing lists of individuals for criteria that indicate giving potential.Operational and Data Management
Coordinates database and systems updates.Researches contact information (address, phone, email) for segments of our donor and prospect population using free and fee-based resources.Researches, reviews, assesses, and records employment, news, death notices, and other changes for alumni and other Brandeis constituents.Provides data entry support to prospect management including assignments, disqualifications, contact reports, and proposals.Actively participate in the recording, updating, and monitoring of prospect research, prospect identification, prospect management, proposal, and fundraising activity information in IA's fundraising system.Assist with the preparation of reports for research, prospecting, and prospect management purposes.Promote best practices in gathering, storing, and maintaining data in the prospect database.Collaborate with Prospect Development colleagues and others across IA to enhance and deepen portfolio and pipeline management and implementation across Brandeis.Skills & Qualifications:
HS diploma required. B.A./B.S. preferred plus 1-3 years of related work experienceExcellent written and oral communication skills that promote academic and business professionalism and convey information clearly and concisely. Ability to write various types of reports, profiles, and communications is required.Ability and experience conducting research using online library and commercial databases such as Lexis-Nexis (academic or professional), and to extract and summarize key information in a clear and concise manner.Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems including advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite of products, Google Suite (mail, calendar, sites, news alerts, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, and Zoom. Proven Microsoft Word and Excel skills, including experience using filters, sorting, and formatting to strategically work with and present data effectively. Must be able to develop proficiency and become comfortable and productive with relational databases specific to Brandeis.Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills, with high attention to detail and follow-up with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.Willingness to be flexible and nimble with tasks and operate with a collaborative and service-oriented approach.Ability to apply sound judgment, discretion, and a commitment to professional ethics and data security when dealing with highly confidential constituent, donor, and prospect information.
