The role directly supports the senior HR leadership team on a regular basis in serving the company Executive Leadership team as well as interaction with the Board compensation committee. As part of the KeHE HR Team, the Director, Compensation plays a critical role in all strategic activity related to ensuring KeHE compensation programs remain market competitive in order to attract and retain the best talent for KeHE.Essential Functions:
Serve as the primary compensation point of contact for company Executive Leadership, HR Business Partners, Recruiters and Business Leaders on a range of compensation-related topicsManages compensation team and guide, engage, and develop the teamDesigns and manages all broad-based compensation related activity including but not limited to job architecture, market analyses, merit, promotions and all pay adjustmentsPartners with Leadership and Compensation Committee to design, manage and administer executive compensation programs and preparation for committee meetingsConsolidates, interpret and present data analysis for HR leadership team and the executive team on a variety of compensation-related topicsKeeps apprised of governance and compliance issues as they relate to compensationMakes process improvements recommendations at every opportunityIdentifies key metrics and data to advance understanding of compensation effectivenessWorks with Talent Acquisition to develop competitive compensation offers for new hiresParticipates in the design, development, implementation, and ongoing management of the organization's short and long-term incentive programsManages external vendors and consultants to ensure the company is positioned competitively and stays current on trends/changes in the industry and nationallyPartners with compliance and legal team to ensure compensation programs and practices are compliant with local and federal legislationDevelops the annual budget for the compensation teamOversees communication strategies and materials for compensation actions such as merit process, performance management, STI, LTI and other compensation related programsDesigns and implements a process for the creation and maintenance of job descriptionsDesigns creative solutions to specific compensation-related challenges or needsPartners with compliance and legal teams to fulfill requirements of relevant government rules and regulations, including ERISA and FLSA.Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent requiredMinimum of eight (8) years of compensation required (10-12 preferred)Minimum of three (3) years of executive compensation experience requiredExpert knowledge of MS Office, including Microsoft Excel requiredAdditional Knowledge, Skills,and Abilities:Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Human Resources or related field preferredProven analytical and quantitative skillsExperience consulting with top business leaders and HR business partnersExperienced with compensation software (e.g., Comp Analyst, Pay Factors) preferredStrong track record of successfully designing and implementing innovative strategic compensation programs and processes throughout a large organizationStrong presentation and communication skillsExperience leading and managing othersStrong business acumen and ability to link business needs with compensation strategiesAbility to develop highly effective relationships at all levels both internally and externallyAbility to engage and influence senior leaders and other key stakeholdersAbility to use PowerPoint to communicate information and guide decisionsAbility to use mail-merge and Adobe Professional to create and distribute materialsStrong project management and time management skillsExhibits a growth mindset; open to coaching and feedback; continuously learnsDemonstrates a passion for the unique mission and values of KeHE
