i3 is currently seeking a Junior
Field Service Engineer (FSE)
to support the IBCS Team located onsite at Redstone Arsenal, AL. The qualified candidate will be responsible for providing high-level technical support, system integration, and field service engineering for the IBCS Program. The position involves collaborating with military and civilian personnel to ensure the seamless deployment, operation, and maintenance of the IBCS system. The candidate can expect up to 25% travel within the continental United States.Responsibilities:This position will provide technical support services in support of maintaining and sustaining fielded IBCS systems, equipment and software at all identified locationsRepresent the IBCS program as the primary point of contactIntegrate and maintain systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux and integrate COTS/GOTS products with IBCS systemsAssist in the emplacement and initialization of the IBCS systemAdvise customers on the capabilities and limitations of the IBCS systemAssist in troubleshooting IBCS hardware, software, and networksProvide feedback to program leadership regarding system performance and end-user feedbackPerform operator and maintainer tasks on equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and softwareConduct training when neededSupport Program Help Desk as requiredConduct scheduled equipment inventories
Qualifications:Education/ExperienceBachelors degree preferredPrior field service engineer experience or similar experience preferred.Security+ certifcation preferredCompTIA Linux + certification or the ability to obtain within six months of hire dateExperience with tactical networks and troubleshootingExperience in field operator trainingExperience troubleshooting of computer systems and network.Active DoD secret security clearance highly preferred, interim clearance required to start.U.S. Citizenship is required.Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge of office administration and procedures.Exceptional judgment capabilities and relationship management skills.Excellent communication, teamwork, and client service skills; ability to clearly communicate in discussions and written documents, and to deliver feedback clearly and tactfully.Experience in applying security controls to Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, DISA STIG implementation is strongly desired.Experience establishing/troubleshooting Distributed Mission Ops (DMO) and Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) exercises with local and large exercises.Interact with a diverse array of customers and staff in a professional and courteous manner.Work independently with accountability for accurate and complete results.Be extremely organized and exceptionally detail oriented.Work well both independently and in a team environment.Be energized by a fast-paced work environment.Must be able to communicate with others effectively.Analyze information and respond appropriately.Manage time wisely and prioritize tasks.Provide superior customer service.?Multi-task in a pleasant manner.Work well under pressure.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
