Position Overview:
Navistar is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Lead to join our team at our Powertrain Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL!The
Lead Manufacturing Engineer
will be an integral part of the planning, development, and implementation of assembly equipment and processes to support the launch of a new powertrain platform.Responsibilities:Support Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in assembly layouts, equipment purchase, qualification, and installationAct and represent Navistar in a global production teamBe the voice of production to product developmentPerform research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly sequence, assembly methods and production equipment investmentsStandardizes manufacturing processes by benchmarking other manufacturing facilitiesCoordinate pre-series builds and production launch of the new product including establishing goals, training team member, and evaluate and act on resultsAssist in the accomplishment of plant quality objectivesMinimum Requirements:
Bachelors degreeAt least 5 years of experience in product manufacturingORMasters degreeAt least 3 years of experience in product manufacturingORAt least 7 years of experience in product manufacturingAdditional Requirements:
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Proficient with electric torque controlled fastening toolsProficient with press equipment and processesProficient with launching new productsCompetence with launching new products in an existing production lineCompetence with maintaining and follow up project budgetsCompetence with developing and maintaining project timelinesCompetence with Microsoft Office productsExperience with CAD and 3D modeling tools preferred Siemens NXExperience with AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles)Experience with presenting resolutions to quality issuesExperience with leak testingExperience with Robotic Assembly systemsAbility, and willingness to lead and guide other professionals or colleaguesAbility, and willingness to learn from others
