And youll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) are Amazons front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchboards/switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems. They provide 24/7 shift coverage which could include 12 hour shifts, rotating 2 and 5 day work weeks.This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.Key job responsibilitieso Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data centero Troubleshoot of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAso Perform limited maintenance tasks to including filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs, rack PDU, and rack ATS replacementso Provide support to Data Center Operations technicianso Perform root cause analysis of equipment failureso Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing worko Work a 12 hour shift (rotating 2 and 5 day work weeks days or nights)o Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)o Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventoryo Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenanceo Respond to off hour emergency calls per on call rotation for any one of the regions siteso Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policieso Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilitieso Manipulate small wires and objectso Perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation:o Walk job sites in uneven terraino Work in extreme climateso Work at heights and from ladderso Regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 40 pounds or moreo Bend or twist the body into unusual positions while workingo Push or pull heavy objects into positiono Work in noisy environmentsAbout the teamAmazon Web Services (AWS) is the worlds most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. Thats why youll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of maintenance experience on mechanical or electrical equipment- Experience operating electrical or mechanical systems in a mission critical environment (i.e. Data Center, telecom, etc.)- Experience with building management systems (BMS/EPMS)Preferred Qualifications- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline- 4+ years of Data Center Engineering Experience- Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fiber) cabling- Strong verbal and written communication skillsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
