Job Description
Zachry Exploration is currently looking for a talented Revenue Accountant to join our Accounting department in San Antonio, TX. This is a great opportunity to get into a leading role within a small group in one of Zachry's growing entities.
Responsibilities
Maintain Operated and Non-Operated Well information, Owner DOI, and Purchaser information in OGAS softwareDeposit and record monthly cash receipts from oil and gas purchasersCompile revenue information received monthly from purchasers, and verify volumes and pricesEnter detail information into OGAS software and generate royalty checks to all ownersMaintain current working knowledge of severance tax rules for Texas and LouisianaCalculate and remit monthly severance taxes to various statesPrepare quarterly revenue accruals based on well production & pricesPrepare quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules for 1 subsidiary and 2 affiliates in accordance with GAAPPrepare and record various monthly & quarterly journal entriesReconcile revenue-related accounts and analyze and explain account variancesPrepare annual 1099's for all royalty and vendor paymentsTrack project & well payout statusGenerate special reports for senior management as requiredAssist in annual company audit, and audits from state agenciesQualifications
Accounting degree requiredOil & Gas experience/knowledge preferredStrong Excel skills requiredStrong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with management and royalty ownersMust be a self-starter, able to work with little supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position may include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position will be required to be in the company office. Employee will be based out of the local Zachry office, but may be required to work in multiple environments.
