Job Description SummaryAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you will engage in engineering tasks related to the manufacturing process, significantly impacting departmental operations. Your responsibilities will include planning and execution, with a focus on adhering to established functional practices and procedures. While the role offers some autonomy, it primarily involves executing activities within a defined operating discipline, typically exercising judgment with guidance. The Unison facility at the GE Aerospace site in Jacksonville is notable for its dual capabilities, manufacturing electronic component parts and operating a Repair & Overhaul shop for GE Aerospace Engines. Our climate-controlled facility promotes diversity and career advancement, supported by 9 active employee resource groups.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesDefine and control production processes, including the selection and maintenance of tooling and equipment.Validate design specifications and ensure their practical application on the shop floor for new products, tools, or equipment.Develop in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines relevant to manufacturing and production.Utilize prior experience and technical expertise to execute company policies and strategies.Understand key business drivers and use this knowledge to achieve work objectives.Integrate the work of your team with other teams to contribute to overall business goals.Exercise judgment to propose innovative solutions within set parameters, with guidance as needed.Solve straightforward tasks using prior experience and on-the-job training.Access and apply technical skills and analytical thinking to resolve problems.Collaborate with multiple internal sources outside of your team to make informed decisions.Provide informal guidance to new team members and contribute to their development.Utilize lean principles to drive continuous improvement and enhance shop floor operator experience.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and/or engineering).Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing and/or engineering experience.Desired CharacteristicsStrong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems effectively.Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.Established project management skills.Proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to hire and develop talent as an early people leader.This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
