Find fulfillment in your work and make an immediate difference in the working lives of IT staff and users with our team DESCRIPTION OF WORK The position is based at the Materials and Testing Lab, providing IT support to users and other teams within the Information Technology Coordinator Division (ITCD). It involves making independent decisions for day-to-day IT operations, including managing service desk calls and overseeing IT Generalists and interns. The role provides Tier 2 support for approximately 115 users and 1,400 IT assets, requiring multitasking and attention to detail across six network-connected sites. As a subject matter expert on the Remedy Incident Management System, the position monitors incident tickets, ensuring proper resolution and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include leading major IT projects, managing client device support, and overseeing mobile device management for iOS devices. The role also handles telecommunications equipment, user account administration, and security group management, ensuring compliance and data integrity. Collaboration with various IT staff is essential for resource allocation and performance evaluations. Additionally, the position supports specialized geotechnical applications and conducts meetings to define IT needs and technology requirements. It involves prioritizing IT budget recommendations, reviewing custom workstation images, and participating in succession planning to ensure knowledge transfer within the team. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time on an ad hoc basis. You will work from headquarters on a regular basis but must request and secure the supervisor's consent in advance of scheduling a day to telework. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Information Technology Generalist 1, Applications Developer 1, or Network Specialist 1; or Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or A bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
