Overview:

Responsible for directing and overseeing financial strategies and activities of the Industrial Business within the Clean energy and Infrastructure Segment at Mastec. Includes preparation of current financial reports as well as summaries and forecast for future business growth for the company and its related group of companies. Serve as the Finance business partner for the EVP of Industrial and the representative of finance on the Industrial Leadership team. Serve as senior level mentor for accounting/finance efforts across the business. Responsible for the efficiency and accuracy as well as process improvements that will support the growth of Industrial and Mastec Clean Energy.The location of this position is flexible, based on the identified candidate (Denver, CO, Austin, TX, or Houston, TX). This position will have up to 25% travel to regional office locations. No matter your role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our success as we deliver innovative solutions to our clients.Responsibilities:Direct and oversee the accounting and finance functions and strategy of the assigned company(ies) within MastecAssist the Segment CFO and Industrial EVP in formulating the companys strategic direction and supporting tactical initiativesMonitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plansDevelop financial and tax strategiesCoordinate month end closings with operations to ensure timely preparation andissuance of monthly reporting packages to corporate parentPreparation of month end, quarter end and year end work papers and variance analysisCoordinate audits with internal and external auditorsEnsure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, including Sarbanes Oxley controlsPresent monthly financial performance to Executive managementReview and approve accounting transactions on a daily basisExpert understanding of Construction accounting and revenue recognitionLead the monthly forecasts and annual budgeting processMust proactively face challenges and provide solutionsAbility to work long hours when warrantedAssistance with other corporate projects as neededManage Finance leaders responsible for General accounting, Accounts Payable and Receivable, and PayrollAppraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints and resolve problemsAssist in hiring, coaching and developing estimating professionals across the sectorEvaluate and recommend solutions for a more efficient and streamlined process in all accounting areasPartner with Operational Vice Presidents to assess current processes, drive consistency in approach, tools, and vision across Mastec Clean EnergyUnderstand and mitigate key elements of risk profileMaintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

Qualifications:QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field

10-15 years experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

CPA certification required

Experience as Corporate Controller, subsidiary controller as part of a large company or equivalent

Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesTake reasonable care of your own and others health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the companys Zero Injury principles

Strong computer skills, specifically Excel

Extensive knowledge in all aspects of construction accounting

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills along with an attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and professionalism

Ability to handle multiple tasks with simultaneous deadlines and prioritize workload in a fast-paced dynamic environment

A proven leader in mentoring and developing accounting staff

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to interact with multiple personalities at all levels within the organization

Preparation of reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, executives and the general public

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Work well under pressure and ability to meet timelines and deadlines

Work well independently and as both a leader and contributor to teams
