The photographer and writer will be responsible for taking high-quality photographs and editing them to accompany news stories for distribution to state, regional and national media, websites, social media platforms, publications, displays and marketing. This position will also be responsible for writing news stories using Associated Press style, collecting information for the stories, and editing the stories for media, the website, social media, newsletter and other publications. Duties also include storing and archiving digital photos for efficient retrieval of photos needed for projects.
The Communications, Marketing, and External Relations Office at the College of Business is the creative engine that amplifies the college's mission and helps achieve its engagement, recruitment and fundraising goals. With a dynamic team skilled in strategy, writing, design and photography, they craft compelling narratives through print, web, social media, email, digital signage and more to reach key audiences. While also promoting events and managing an event registration system, this team turns ideas into impactful campaigns that highlight the college's strengths and successes, connecting it to the campus community and the broader world.

Minimum Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in journalism, photography, graphic design, or related field and at least one year of experience taking photos and/or video in college setting (can be as a student); equivalent education/experience considered.Excellent grasp of photography, using digital camera and studio lighting equipment, and technology for editing.Exceptional grammar and spelling, and familiarity with journalistic writing.Ability to shoot pictures quickly and accurately under deadline, and also be able to work on long-term projects.Problem solving and time management skills needed. Must be able to effectively communicate, write, organize work, and manage schedule.
Preferred QualificationsPre-Placement Driving Record Review Required

NoCommercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre-employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.
