Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design is seeking an electrician on our beautiful, historic campus in Lakewood, CO. This individual is responsible for a variety of tasks which could include any combination of the following: connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components, perform preventative and electrical maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting and perform basic electrical repairs/installation. Occasional nights and weekends are required. May need to take 24 hour calls.
Candidates must live within commuting distance of our campus and have reliable transportation.

Perform minor maintenance and repair to designated equipment; perform routine and preventive maintenance on building equipmentMonitor boiler chemicals and settingsPerform basic electrical repairs/installationPerform general maintenanceOperate and clean manual and power maintenance equipment; perform minor equipment repairWillingness to learn and perform tasks related to Structured Technology cabling, CAT6 cable, Fiber Optics, Cabling Terminations, installation of Security Cameras, Door Access, Sound Systems and Streaming Systems.Perform trash and snow removalLight construction and other building needs as requestedPerform scheduled maintenanceBe on call for after hours as neededCover on call for the Director of Facilities when neededBehaviors and Attitudes reflect RMCAD's Mission, Vision, and ValuesPerform other duties as deemed necessary by managementQualifications
High School Diploma or GED requiredFour years of experience in electrical work requiredMust be able to speak, read, and write English fluentlyMust know and be able to apply the National Electrical Code (NEC); maintains knowledge of any changes in the codeCurrent State of Colorado Journeyman Electrical license requiredMust be able to perform the following tasks:
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other componentsInstall conduit and new outletsRepair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power toolsAssemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power toolsTest electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systemUse a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lampsPlan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codesInspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codesDiagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Working Conditions and Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee frequently works on high places and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Must be able to move objects weighing up to 100 pounds regularly. Requires bending and stretching on a regular basis; may involve climbing high ladders or crawling around in confined spaces.
Occasional nights and weekends are required. May need to take 24 hour calls.
