Position Summary
The Vice President of Finance manages the financial activities of Abita Brewing Company, applying the principles of accounting and finance to analyze financial data to make strategic business decisions. This position is responsible for overseeing departmental operations, developing, and executing the company's strategic goals and identifying business opportunities to achieve the company's revenue goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities•Assesses and evaluates financial performance of the company regarding long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. Financially related accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
o Executes all tasks relating to cash flow and financial planning while adhering to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
o Oversees all treasury management services and develops appropriate tracking methods for revenue and expenses.
o Manages all company banking and financial debt compliance.
o Manages annual financial audit and federal and state income tax filings.
o Coordinates and prepares annual, quarterly, and monthly financial reports, forecasts, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, cash management, and procurement.
o Oversees all accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, tax preparation and benefit programs.
o Manages and provides oversight on all capital projects.•Serves as a financial advisor to the President for strategic planning purposes and assists the President with execution of the business strategy and pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models. In addition, this position sets goals, monitors work and evaluates results of all departments to ensure company strategic objectives and operating requirements are in line with the overall budget and strategic plan.•Attends meetings with the Board of Directors and shares information to ensure they are informed of all business operations. Helps convey and recommend financial strategy to the Board of Directors and the President.•Assists in corporate development initiatives, facilitating and executing transactions and supporting post-transaction initiatives.•Supervises all Information Technology functions to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases, and software. Evaluates departments' processes and makes suggestions for automating and increasing work efficiencies. Oversees the third-party administrators and ensures their support in maintaining our network computer and security systems.•Oversees all compliance functions for the company including state and federal filings for alcohol licensing and regulatory compliance, legal and regulatory documents, all legal business concerns and issues, trademark compliance, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.•Reviews, negotiates, and executes company contracts including wholesaler distribution, vendor selection and pricing changes for contracts, insurance coverage for the organization (including reviewing and negotiating major contracts for commercial insurance programs and group benefit plans), and all contract customer contracts including pricing, strategy, and execution.•Analyzes product sales performance data to assist in the formulation of accurate sales forecasting for the material resource planning function.•Works with Brewing, Marketing, Operations, Human Resources, and other departments to coordinate financial strategy across the organization.•Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.•BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting.•CPA Required•Minimum of 10 years of experience in similar financial-oriented role with managerial background.•Strong financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.•Must be highly organized and detail oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.•Experience with leading and directing the work and motivating others.•Ability to work ethically and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.•Knowledge of computers (Word, Excel, Outlook, Accounting and Operations software and Network integrations)•Exceptional written and verbal communication and organizational skills.•Creative thinker with ability for disciplined quantitative analysis and reporting.•Must have strong familiarity with the alcoholic beverages industry and a working knowledge of its key players and major brand trends.
