The ideal candidate has 2+ years of public accounting experience OR internal audit experience with a public companyThey would prefer someone already at a Senior levelSOX experience is a MUSTAn advanced degree or CPA is preferredAbility to work in a team environmentSelf-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervisionWhat You'll Be Doing:
Assist in remediation of internal control gaps with the Finance teamAct as intermediary between Accounting/Finance and Internal/External AuditorsIdentify process issues and make recommendations for improvement.Research practical accounting and financial reporting regulation as needed. Guarantee the content, scope and timing of audit procedures permit for effective and efficient audit of assigned sectionsPrepare intermittent audit, financial reporting, and special project reports and summaries for circulation to Audit Committee and managementEvaluate operations and the control environment to recognize potential areas of improvement within multiple/various departments.Work on and conduct special SOX implementation projects as well as ad hoc projects as requiredFocus heavily on process improvement and management as well as work flow.
