ROLE DESCRIPTION:Zoetis Reference Laboratories (ZRL) is seeking a full-time Anatomic Pathologist for the US reference laboratory business. Zoetis Reference Labs is a new division of Zoetis Global Diagnostics.This role will primarily involve interpreting histopathology samples and consultation with veterinarian clients.Histopathology at Zoetis Reference Laboratories is almost entirely digitized, and this position can be remote, based in the United States. A pathologist interested in working onsite in the Louisville laboratory is preferred.The successful candidate must have a passion for supporting the veterinary community. This is a values-driven organization where service is the priority.RESPONSIBILITIES:Examine digitized and rarely glass histopathology slides (histochemical and immunohistochemical stains) to generate reports that include diagnoses, microscopic descriptions, photomicrographs, and pertinent comments.Correlate ancillary test results with pathology findings and case information.Consult with referring veterinarians on cases and general anatomic pathology questions.Share subject matter expertise via internal consultations with other anatomic pathologists and occasionally with other veterinary specialists (clinical pathologists, etc.)Participate in various laboratory initiatives/committees beyond diagnostic cases, including recruiting/interviewing, SOP/policy development, and discussions to increase team efficiency.QUALIFICATIONS:DVM (or equivalent)ACVP/ECVP Certified or has completed an anatomic pathology residency training program and is eligible for board certification.A state license to practice veterinary medicine or eligibility for a state license.KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:RequiredStrong diagnostic skills in general anatomic pathologyStrong verbal and written communication skills in EnglishHighest interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.Able to work at a fast pace while maintaining a high level of quality/accuracy.Flexible to changing methods and technologies.Strongly preferred.Expertise in one or more of the following subspecialties:
Mammary gland/reproductive pathologyLiver pathologyGastrointestinal pathologyBone pathologyOral pathologyExperience with digital pathology in a diagnostic setting
PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTSAble to work hours on a computer and tolerate computer screens.Able to physically tolerate reading diagnostic cases digitally.Some travel possibleFull time Regular Colleague
