Position HighlightsThe Arizona Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at the University of Arizona invites applications for a Anatomic Pathologist (Pathologist III) position. The successful candidate's- duties include a diverse workload with companion animals, livestock, wildlife, and some exotics. The position also brings the opportunity to work with our welcoming and inclusive faculty and staff as well as being a part of Research, Innovation & Impact (RII)'s community.The laboratory is one of the original twelve laboratories partnered in the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) and participates in supporting the Cooperative Extension's Arizona Livestock Incident Response Team (ALIRT). ALIRT was designed to enhance the diagnosis of unexplained mortality events in livestock.

There will be opportunities to work with and mentor veterinary students as well as continuing education opportunities.

Mentorship is available for early career pathologists.

Duties & Responsibilities:* Necropsy Service* Gross and Histopathological examinations on all species* Case coordination* Biopsy service* Consultation with colleagues, practitioners, shelters, law enforcement and local, state or federal agencies* Communicating with clients orally and in writing with clients and stakeholders* Writing and interpreting test results* Participation in the Quality Management system* Additional duties may be assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:* Demonstrated ability to work with others in a team atmosphere.* Solid understanding of client needs.Minimum QualificationsDVM and Board Certification Eligible in Pathology5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in quality management systems.
