Brief Description:
Electrical maintenance and project support of the Heavy Section Mill equipment from the reheat furnace through the shipping bays.Responsibilities:Job Duties & Responsibilities:Maintain electrical equipment and control systems for the HSM and associated areas including rail head hardening and rail finishing.Maintain electrical drawings and technical documentation for HSM.Assist and train electrical personnel on complex electrical tasks.Operational planning and execution of maintenance and projects on maintenance down days and outages.Supervision responsibilities of part of the HSM electrical team
Qualifications:Required:Strong self-starting abilities.Ability to prioritize multiple projects to ensure timeliness.Knowledge of power distribution up to 34.5KV including switchgear and transformers, AC/DC motors, motor control, and drives.Strong ability to self-teach using technical documentation.Skilled at trouble shooting and problem solving in demanding time sensitive conditions.Ability to work both in a group and independently to achieve goals.Oversight of and implementation of projects from initial planning to final commissioning.Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology and /or equivalent work experience.Preferred:Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Rockwell Software, and industrial networks such as ControlNet, Devicenet, EtherNet/IP, and ProfiBus.Basic understanding of rolling mill processes.Steel Dynamics Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
