Overview

Developmental Disabilities Institute, DDI, is one of the largest providers of care to children and adults with Autism, developmental disabilities and other special needs. DDI has been a part of Long Island for over 50 years serving over 1,500 children and adults with Autism, other developmental disabilities and special needs. DDI provides innovative and expansive services to our population through various educational settings, residential services, day habilitation programs and vocational services.

Salary: $20.20 - $24.24 / hour

Shifts Available:ResponsibilitiesResponsible for daily supervision of staff activities; evaluation and administration of disciplinary actionKnowledge of Emergency Procedures and accurate implementation of procedures in handling crisis situations as they ariseAMAP Certification - Obtain within the first 90 days in position and keep currentTrain and supervise new staff to work with individual(s) served, and ensure active treatment for the shift you superviseAssist Program Manager with solving staff issues, disputes, and completing required paperworkInstruction and documentation of formal goals and protocols in accordance with the CFA/ISP.Implementation of Behavior Plans and all other components of the annual plan.Evaluate (monthly) progress as related to short term objectives and formulation of new objectives based on level attainedAccompany individuals on medical appointmentsCompletion of incident reports and (SCIP-R reports)Participate in the development and revisions of formal goals, protocols, and Behavior PlansParticipate in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings, attend staff meetings and annual recertification trainingsQualificationsHigh School Diploma, BA/BS preferredOne (1) year experience working with developmentally disabled adults, requiredValid NYS driver's license and approved to drive by DDI's Transportation DepartmentWorking knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavioral Support
