To be successful in this position, you will have knowledge and hands-on experience with current ETL and data pipeline best-practices in a cloud-based environment. You will also have experience leading technical engineers, helping them successfully complete work, while coaching and mentoring them to meet their career goals. Job Responsibilities:Lead a team of 8 data engineers and data analysts to ensure both project deliverables and resolution of run issues are achievedEnsure project milestones are tracked, measured, and completed on timeExecute the defined strategy as laid out by data and analytics leadership teamInterview and hire for open positions on the teamPartner with Architecture and our Sr. data engineer on ingestion patterns and best practicesBring and mature run and operational practices on the teamEvaluate and improve existing data patternsPartner with operations/business teams to efficiently resolve issues related to data ingestion and data qualityBalance the needs of the business with the data strategy Ability to pivot on deliverables as priorities changeJob Requirements:5+ years' experience as a Data Engineer working with large enterprise tools and datasetsWorking knowledge of Snowflake and RedshiftExperience with AWS and its data and analytics offerings such as Glue, Lambda, DMS, etc.2+ years as a people leader in a data and analytics-related roleExperience using Agile to complete workAdvanced skills in SQLBonus if familiar with IBM's DataStage ETL toolAbility to present to senior leaders Excellent written and oral communication skills.Ability to work on a geographically diverse team Apply to Compass Group todayClick here to Learn More about the Compass StoryCompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
