Job Summary:
The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for assisting all aspects of payroll processing and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position will also be responsible for muti-state and muti-entity payroll journal entries and reconciliations. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Assist in preparation and maintenance of accurate payroll records and reports. Verify and reconcile payroll data, including timekeeping, benefits, and deductions. Collaborate with the HR department to ensure employee records are up-to-date and accurate. Assist in payroll tax filings and payments. Assist with audits by providing payroll information and documentation as requested. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information. Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure company compliance. Assist in month-end closing and financial reporting processes. In charge of all payroll journal entries and reconciliations for multiple entities and multiple business units. Perform all other payroll related and accounting duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. ADP experience highly preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role. Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
