About the role:Xperi is seeking a Sr. Payroll Manager to join our corporate accounting team on a hybrid schedule. In this role, you will oversee and supervise the company’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. You will also be responsible for all payroll accounting and related monthly close activities. The Sr. Payroll Manager will work closely with HR, Legal and Finance in relations to payroll, benefits and other compensation related matters. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative and should possess solid interpersonal skills. In addition, the successful candidate should have strong technical payroll knowledge and proficient in all facets of payroll accounting.Job Responsibilities:Manage the US payroll team.Manage semi-monthly payroll processing in ADP for 800+ employees for US and Canada, including:Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all withholdings, garnishments and other benefit deductions such as 401(k)Ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basisReview changes for proper authorization; ensure timely submission of 401(k) fundingOwn month-end close, quarter-end and year-end payroll processes and related tax reconciliations.Assist accounting team with month-end payroll journal entries, reconciliations and flux questions.Reconcile payroll and payroll tax clearing account monthly.Work with internal and external auditors for quarterly reviews, year-end audits, and SOX audits of procedures and controls as needed; work with 401(k) and workers’ comp auditors for annual compliance audit.Ensures compliance with applicable payroll laws/regulations.Collaborate with Legal, Finance, HR, broker and other third-party providers to communicate materials, compliance and management reports.Manage relationships with external service providers such as ADP and Fidelity.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred or equivalentADP experience is requiredMinimum five years of experience in payroll preferably for a medium to large employerManagement experience: 2+ yearsExtensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxesStrong payroll accounting experience and skillsExcellent organization skills and attention to detailStrong communication skills, written/verbal, and the ability to interact with employees at all levelsExperience using Excel for analyzing data, including knowledge of pivots and common functions
