The Senior Data Fraud Analyst is a key member of the Optum Financial Consumer Payments Fraud team, serving as a subject matter expert within the fraud department. This role involves leading analytical work in the fraud department, identifying opportunities to improve mitigation strategies, mentoring fraud data analysts, and partnering with the product team to improve data strategies for the fraud organization. The Senior Fraud Data Analyst collaborates with various stakeholders, using their analytical strengths to enhance fraud detection processes and ensure effective risk management. With a deep understanding of fraud trends and technologies, they lead investigations, provide strategic insights, and report on fraud patterns and mitigation outcomes to senior management.

Primary Responsibilities:Oversee the development and implementation of fraud analytics models and rulesLead and/or mentor a team of fraud data analysts, ensuring their professional development and performanceOversee the analysis of transactional data to identify patterns of suspicious activity and the development of mitigation strategiesCollaborate with stakeholders to identify fraud risks and opportunities for improvementIdentify opportunities to enhance fraud detection processes and implement improvementsManage analytical projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion of deliverablesDevelop and maintain key fraud analytics metricsDevelop and present detailed reports on fraud trends, investigation outcomes, and mitigation effectiveness to senior managementAssist in the selection and implementation of analytical tools and systems to improve fraud detection and investigation capabilitiesAssist in the development of fraud analytics strategyStay informed about the latest fraud trends, technologies, and best practices in the fraud and payments industries
You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:5+ years of experience in data analysis, a majority with a focus on fraud detection, preferably in the financial services industry4+ years of experience using data analytics tools and software such as SQL, Python, R, SAS, or similar technologies4+ years performing key analytical projects, showcasing solid analytical and problem-solving skills to identify patterns and trends in large datasets2+ years of leadership experience or demonstrated ability to mentor and guide a team of analysts
Preferred Qualification:Understanding of machine learning techniques and predictive modeling

The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
