Our foodservice business supplies many of the top restaurant chains in the United States.Overview:Assists the QA Manager in leading the plant in assessing food quality and safety and other initiatives to improve products and processes related to quality, food safety and consistency. Provides quality and food safety leadership to QA Lab Analysts. The QA Shift Supervisor will participate/lead projects in conjunction with QA manger.
This is a weekend position, Friday-Sunday, 4pm to 4am.Responsibilities:Assists in the hiring, training, and development of QA analysts.Receives, troubleshoots and monitors all New Formula Releases
Review and implement processing procedureCreate processing procedure for selected kitchens
Monitors all initial dressing production runs by assisting R&D and processingAssists in resolving non-conformance issues/quality problems at plant. Works with plant management team to develop corrective action plans and communicates plans to QA management.Perform Monthly GMP Audits of the plant Food Safety and Quality program. Communicates findings to plant managementServes as a key technical resource in plant and as a liaison between corporate R&D, Tech Services and plant operations.Advises plant on quality and food safety implications of changes in product, processing, or facility design.Reviews/Submits monthly customer reports (i.e. YUM KPIs, Boston Market)Review/Evaluates production samples needing approval from a customerDisposition product/ingredients that are on holdWrite weekly schedule for all employees on the shift (QA Manager has final approval of schedule)Review all completed QA paperwork, and effectively communicate needed corrections to analystAssists in preparation and presenting information for all internal, 3rd party, customer, and State/Federal audits of our facility.Qualifications:
BS or BA degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology or food science preferred.Three plus years of experience in quality assurance in a food related industry.Food related industry is a mustMust be able to lead projects/people, motivate associates and proactively anticipate and address issues.
Working Conditions/Environment:Works in a laboratory and manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, crouch, reach and bend while moving about the facility. Requires some lifting of moderately heavy items such as test equipment and product cases. The employee is regularly exposed to moving machines and handling of hazardous testing and sanitation chemicals. The noise level in the lab is moderate and loud in the plant.
