Join us.Itron is currently seeking a Procurement Contracts Administrator to join our team at our Austin, TX (preferred) or San Antonio. This role will engage in all aspects of the procurement lifecycle including contract preparation, terms review, negotiation and administration in accordance with Itron's policies and legal requirements.Duties & Responsibilities:Investigate and resolve questions associated with procurement contracts in process and/or existing contracts (e.g. scope of agreement, term).Process, review, draft, modify, negotiate and administer various contractual documents, including, but not limited to Technology/Technology Partner (Hardware, Software, Telecom); Professional Services (Independent Contractor, Recruitment, Training, HR Benefits, R&D), 3rd Party Installations, Marketing, Travel, Facilities Management, Equipment, Maintenance and other "indirect" supplier agreements.Interpret procurement contract requirements, obligations and risk exposure.Identify, report and escalate business issues and procurement contract "nonstandard terms" for review and approval at the appropriate level with the designated subject matter experts or Delegation of Authority approvers.Work closely with procurement legal counsel and with other internal business functions such as finance, sales, marketing, purchasing, research and development, project management and risk management to ensure optimal contract terms while minimizing risk.Provide analysis, feedback and recommendations to management and appropriate field/sales personnel regarding procurement contract terms, templates, and resolution of contractual issues.Review vendor/supplier responses to Itron Requests for Proposals and related contractual terms in vendor bid responses and evaluation.Contribute to the development and improvement of procurement agreements and templates and of innovative approaches to procurement contracting requirements, obligations and exposures to streamline processes and constantly improve efficiencies.Assist in establishing and continuously improving procurement policies, processes and procedures supporting contract preparation, negotiation, review, approval and administration.Educate business partners on key procurement, legal, corporate policy and other considerations.Required Skills & Experience:5 years of related experience in procurement contract drafting and preparation, negotiation/administration.Demonstrated knowledge of common procurement transactional terminology and basic legal concepts within contract terms (such as warranty, limitation of liability, and indemnity).Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications in a Windows environment.Comprehensive understanding of vendor/supplier contracts, including familiarity with the procurement contract management cycle.Experience in procurement contracting from the preliminary/conceptual phase, through structuring, due diligence, negotiating, drafting, closing and conflict resolution.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent ability to manage multiple contracts of varying types, size and complexity through the contract administration process.Ability to multi-task efficiently, manage and prioritize workload and deadlines, and successfully balance between autonomous work and escalation to attorney as appropriate.Broad knowledge of applicable procurement contractual and legal concepts as they apply to vendor/supplier purchasing and services.Demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively interact with vendors/suppliers, internal clients (Procurement and Sales), and stakeholders.Strong problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills and adept at managing across all levels in the organization.The ability to resolve conflicts using collaboration, mutual respect, creativity, and flexibility of thought.Knowledge of federal regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, Affirmative Action and other regulatory reporting requirements a plus.Education:Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or procurement contracting field or equivalent experience.Preferred Skills & Experience:Working knowledge of Salesforce, Apttus/Conga, Oracle, or another contract lifecycle management tool preferred but not required.Project management experience preferred, but not required.Polished and effective negotiation, communication, written, verbal, and presentation skills.Excellent people skills, strong business orientation, and a team player.Experience in subcontracts and subcontracting a plus.Ability to travel up to 10% annually.Physical Demands:This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.#LI-MD1This position also includes a competitive benefit package including; financial, social, health and wellbeing programs, paid vacation, 401k matching, employee stock purchase program, hybrid work schedule, and more!Itron is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and providing an authentic workplace experience for all employees.
