Position:
School Bus Driver
Schedule:
Monday through Friday
Hours: (as per assigned route minimal 5 hour split shift)
Summary:
Drives school bus to safely transport students over specified routes according to a time schedule. Complies with traffic regulations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Drives a school bus safely and professionallyPerforms and properly completes daily pre-trip and/or post-trip inspectionsComplies with all traffic ordinancesComplies with discipline policies set forth in the School Code of Conduct for TransportationParticipates in on-site trainingShows proficiency in handling and maneuvering school busCommunicates in an appropriate fashion with students, parents and staffPrepares reports or memos as requiredAssists students on and off the school busMaintains order on the school busCleans bus interior and exteriorOther duties may be assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises students while transporting them.
Qualifications:

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must have a current Pa Class B Commercial Driver's License.SP endorsement air brake restriction removed font-size: 12pt">Must pass State Skill Test and State Written Test and keep license current.
Education and/or Experience: font-size: 12pt">High school diploma or general education degree (GED). font-size: 12pt">Must have no points on driving record and be able to pass physical / drug and alcohol test. font-size: 12pt">School bus drivers and will be included in the random drug testing pool for the district CDL drivers.
Must be able to perform basic math skills and Miles per gallon.Language skills:
Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, maintenance instructions and operating manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Reasoning ability: font-size: 12pt">Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.Other skills and abilities: font-size: 12pt">Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers, parents and students. font-size: 12pt">Ability to read and understand maps. font-size: 12pt">Ability to pass State Skill Test, State Written Test, Department of Transportation physical and Basic Training Program. font-size: 12pt">Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. font-size: 12pt">Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit and occasionally required to walk or stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee frequently repeats the same hand, arm or finger motion many times. The employee frequently uses hand strength to grasp tools. Is continuously driving on the job. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds such as students or students in wheelchairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and peripheral vision. Must be able to hear student responses.Work Environment:

The employee has direct responsibility for the safety and well being of others. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud to where you have to raise your voice to be heard.
