Located on the downtown Orlando Health campus, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has been providing compassionate care to the children, teenagers and young adults of Central Florida for more than 30 years. At the Haley Center for Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders, our multidisciplinary team of pediatric hematology-oncology specialists and BMT specialists care for each child's medical, psychological and developmental well-being. The team is seeking a Full-Time Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Advanced Practice Provider who has an interest in treating patients in the below specialties.
Bone Marrow Transplant
Neuro-Oncology
Solid Tumor
Liquid Tumor
Leukemia and Lymphoma
General Oncology
Bleeding Disorders

The advanced practice provider in collaboration with a physician, and according to the collaborative practice protocol provides inpatient management, consultations, and co-management of Hematology/Oncology patients in the acute care and practice setting.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Inpatient and outpatient rotating dayshift position. Rotating weekends required. Potential Call Requirements
Inpatient APP responsibilities:
Perform daily chart review and pre round on all primary patients.
Formulate daily plan and enter orders
Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team (consults, dietician, case management)
Present patient in rounds and actively participate and assist on rounds
Complete daily progress notes on primary patients
Provide necessary home prescriptions and discharge coordination.
Assist and act as resource for inpatient clinical and resident staff.
Assisting with chemotherapy orders for all patients.
Respond to acute care needs on inpatient unit for all patients.
Assist with continuation of care from inpatient visits to outpatient care and appropriate follow up.
Assist with protocol and roadmap review for all oncology patients within the inpatient unit.
Assist in consultations of hematology patients as needed.
New diagnosis education and chemotherapy education.
Cross training for BMT/Oncology/Hematology
Complete bone marrow aspiration and biopsies as needed.
Complete lumbar puncture with intrathecal chemotherapy.
Outpatient APP Responsibilities Rotation:
Daily Clinic visits for new and established patients
Part of procedural rotation
Acute care visits, same day appointments
Chemo treatment plans
Coordination of patient admissions, including all documentation and orders to ensure patient can receive treatment
Cross-training for bone marrow harvesting
Other Essential Functions
Collaborates with residents' team by overseeing proper chemo treatment plans for all oncology patients, assisting with floor consults and admissions, and verifying proper follow up upon discharge.
Community outreach and education
Pediatric Resident, Advanced Practice Provider, and RN education
Attend department meetings and committees.
Writing Chemo orders
Qualifications
Education/Training
Master's degree or Doctorate degree in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant Studies.
Experience
RN or Advanced Practice Provider in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.
New graduate PA or NP that can demonstrate a clinical background in Hematology/Oncology/BMT either through work experience, clinical rotations, or post-graduate fellowship
Experience and interest in Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), Neuro-Oncology, Solid Tumor, Liquid Tumor, Leukemia and Lymphoma, General Oncology, Bleeding Disorders highly preffered
Licensure/Certification
Pediatric Acute Care or Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
Current active certification and licensure in the State of Florida as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
Maintains current BLS and PALS certification.
Biotherapy and Chemotherapy certified, preferred.
