The

Licensed

Clinician (Specialist, Child Well Being)

is the point of contact for matters related to child well-being at DHS sites.

Essential Functions:

Observe the physical environment, individual interactions, and verbal and nonverbal cues related to assessing child well-being concerns to ensure appropriate interactions between facility staff, family members, and childrenProactively propose solutions that leverage existing services and coordinate immediate interventions and case management activities among requisite facility staff as necessary to support a child's well-beingPartner with management on decisions regarding the care of children who are experiencing current and/or ongoing medical, psychological, physical limitations, developmental, behavioral, or safety needs that require frequent attention or close monitoring, such as those identified as Elevated In-Custody Medical (ECMR)Assist CBP personnel in documenting and transferring information for individual cases due to the complex requirements for HHS placements of children with special needs and for other downstream partnersProactively engage with children to support their well-being, including identifying children in distress or at risk of distressProvide brief, ongoing education during musters and provide facility staff requested tools to respond to specific situations with children, highlight success stories, and provide other insights into culturally sensitive careReport activities to leadership on a regular basis via shift reports and supervisory meetingsOther duties as assignedKnowledge and Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suiteAbility to support several sites through ongoing communication and review of assessment dataAbility to communicate with site and government staff effectively and efficientlyHave experience working in a multidisciplinary team-based environmentAbility to operate in a dynamic environment within a developing new programExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to prioritize projects and strong problem-solving skillsGood research skills and attention to detailAbility to work flexible hours. We operate 24/7/365Education and Experience:

Master's degree in behavioral health or related field; doctoral degree preferredLicensed Social Worker (LCSW or LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Doctor level prepared psychologist (LP) or equivalent within the state(s)2+ years of working experience in child development, culturally aware and trauma-centered care, performing clinical evaluations in direct engagement with children and their familiesPrior experience in an immigration setting is strongly preferredBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredMust be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment
