SCOPE and PURPOSE
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role within the Finance & Accounting department, overseeing complex financial processes and providing strategic insights to support the multiple entities in our organization. This role requires an experienced professional who can manage high-level accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and contribute to the development of financial strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Ledger Management
· Maintain and update the general ledger by recording and posting journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
· Ensure all transactions are appropriately documented and comply with company policies and accounting principles.
· Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Month-End and Year-End Close
· Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded and reported accurately.
· Prepare and review account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and other balance sheet accounts.
· Analyze and adjust entries as needed to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Financial Reporting
· Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
· Provide support in the preparation of management reports, variance analyses, and financial summaries.
· Collaborate with other finance team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Additional Responsibilities
· Oversee the sales tax preparation, filing and payments.
· Responsible for payroll processing and all related reporting and journal entries.
· Assist or lead other duties as assigned
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS, AND SKILLS
· Deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
· Navision ERP system experience
· QuickBooks Desktop and Online versions
· Strong Excel skills required
· Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
· Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills required
· Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
EDUCATION
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
· CPA or CMA certification preferred.
