Building from the ground up, we opened the first women-owned and led veterinary emergency and specialty care practices in Frederick, MD and Richmond, VA in 2023.

We are seeking a full or part time veterinary surgeon for our hospital in Frederick, MD. We are looking for individuals who are interested in collaborating with the entire hospital team and desire to take an active role in shaping the surgery department and practice in a sustainable, engaging way.

Position Summary

As a Partner Veterinary surgeon, you will utilize your unique expertise to

Diagnose and develop treatment plans for patients with surgical diseases, including orthopedic injuries, wounds, and a myriad of soft-tissue diseases or disordersRegularly collaborate with ER and other departments- including but not limited to internal medicine, neurology, and oncology- to both provide and receive supportOversee consults, rechecks, procedures, surgeries, and transfers from other departmentsHelp develop workflows that optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of these inter-departmental transfersAbility to assist in developing training programs for ER doctors seeking to improve their proficiency and confidence in performing mutually agreed upon surgical emergenciesWe are seeking an individual who supports and prioritizes patient care, self-care, and community-care in line with the spirit and culture of Partner. As a Partner Veterinary Surgeon, you must be enthusiastically committed to collaboration with the emergency service and other specialty departments.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited universityLicensure in good standing to practice in the state of Virginia and/or MarylandBoard certified or residency trained in surgeryAbility to quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patientsThe ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members and pet familiesA commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethicsClinical experience in emergency medicine or general practice, or completion of a rotating or specialty internshipProfessional demeanor and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitudeSupport for new graduates who have commitment to continued professional development and mentorship.

*Salary dependent on schedule chosen

250,000 - $450,000
