We are the Piedmont Triad's only private psychiatric hospital meeting the chemical dependency illnesses and behavioral healthcare needs of those in our community.Our 164-bed inpatient services for adolescents through senior adulthood offers comprehensive and individual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilization, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning. We also offer a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program to ensure the continuum of care for our patients. Old Vineyard is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. We are passionate about our work and are looking for individuals who share in this passion.Director of NursingFull timeWe are currently seeking a Director of Nursing to join our talented and caring team. Our ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking skills, great communication skills with the ability to engage positively with patients, staff, families, providers, etc., must work well under pressure with several competing priorities and maintain professionalism at all times.The Director of Nursing provides administrative leadership for the Nursing Services department with the primary responsibility of overseeing the Nursing Services staff. Assist Nursing Services staff set and reach goals, develop their skills, and improve their delivery of patient care. Manage administrative tasks for the Nursing Services department, such as managing resources (FTEs, budget, etc.), enforcing policy compliance, and ensuring proper safety and sanitation behaviors. Active participant in the recruitment and hiring of Nursing Services staff.Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.Education :Graduate or current enrollee of accredited Master's degree program in nursing, related health care field, or MBA.Experience :Minimum three year's experience in psychiatric, mental health, and/or rehabilitation nursing with a minimum of three years progressive supervisory/management experience in psychiatric, mental health, and/or rehabilitation nursing.Licensure/Certification :Current NC State Registered Nurse (or compact state)AHA CPR & First AidSkills :Demonstrated leadership, communication, teaching and supervisory skills. Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, and interventions with patients. Ability to accurately administer medications and treatments. Ability to monitor and record response and side-effects to medications and treatments. Ability to safely implement Special Treatment Procedures. Ability to assist with education of patients and families in medication and care management. Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology including therapeutic relationships & processes, age specific growth & development, limit setting, crisis & behavior management.Physical Requirements:Position is physically demanding. Climbing, ability to ascent and descent stairs, ramps, using feet, legs, hands and arms. Ability to maintain equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces. Lifting to raise objects from a lower to higher position, moving objects horizontally. Fingering; to pick, pinch or otherwise work with the fingers. Grasping; apply pressure to an object with fingers and palm. Feeling; perceiving attributes of an object such as size, shape, temperature and texture by touching, particularly with fingertips. Repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, fingers or other body parts.Talking. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately and sometimes loudly.Hearing.
