Compensation

Position Summary

Summary:The Nurse Manager provides and integrates clinical leadership and management of a designated unit of patient care on a twenty four hour basis, consistent with the philosophy and goals of the institution, patient care service department, and clinical service, develops and sustains an environment of excellence in patient / family service, growth and development of staff, and application of evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:Education Required• Must complete in-house orientation program• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (A degree in nursing is required - Baccalaureate and/or Graduate degree; A Master's Degree is preferred)• Must complete annual mandatory in-service education (Hospital/Nursing)

Experience And Skills• Speaks, reads and writes English• Clinical experience/skills relevant to the assigned area of practice• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills• Computer proficiency, i.e. excel , word• Highly developed skills in leadership, public relations, teambuilding, problem solving, decision-making, conflict management, analytical skills and critical thinking abilities

License/Certifications• Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)• Certifications for assigned area of practice: BLS and/or ACLS, PALS and CPI if required for assigned area of practice.• Nurse Executive (ANCC) or Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (AONE) or appropriate clinical/specialty certification preferred.
