Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant works with a high degree of independence in performing accounting and financial activities for the company. The role requires strong analytic and reasoning skills in order to determine the best outcome when faced with uncertainty.

The person will apply generally accepted principles of accounting to analyze financial information and will be responsible for making the requisite journal entries and preparing account reconciliations in order to be able to prepare accurate and complete financial statements.

Job Level:

Experienced/Senior Staff

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.Prepare and analyze quarterly consolidated financial statements.Prepare and analyze quarterly and monthly reports, including consolidated sales, and quarterly reserves.Prepare financial budgets and forecasts updates, including modeling and supporting schedules.Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.Understand Intercompany transactions.Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications.Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met.Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes.Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.Job Qualifications:

A minimum of 7 years' experience in financial reporting, financial data analysis, budgeting and auditing.Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.The individual will be expected to work independently and take ownership of his /her work product. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.Attention to detail and accuracy.Planning and organizing.Strategic and tactical thinking.Strong communication skills.Problem identification and analysis.Excellent teamwork skills.Advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles.Knowledge of auditing practices and principles.Knowledge of JDE.

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university.
