A financial services company in New York City has a great Senior-level opportunity awaiting a new Accountant. In this role, the Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for supporting the VP of Accounting and Director of Financial Reporting by assisting in the monthly and quarterly corporate close and financial reporting process by preparing the company's books and records, account reconciliations, and providing support over the general ledger of certain subsidiaries.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Accountant will:Prepare the financial books and records for several legal entities, including monthly/quarterly closing processesEnsure completeness and accuracy of general ledger activity; review and analyze the trial balance to determine if adjustments are necessaryMaintenance of monthly and quarterly account reconciliationsMaintain closing timetable, subsidiary reporting packages and documentation binders for SEC filingsAssist in preparing and reviewing the consolidation of the company's subsidiary resultsPrepare footnote and other disclosure support, including tie-out , for consolidated SEC filingsAssist with internal management reporting functionsAssist with research and preparation of accounting memosProvide backup for key accounting functions, including preparation of the consolidated statement of cash flowsGather, review and reference support for SEC and other documents filed with the public, ensuring all supporting documents comply with the ompany's Sarbanes-Oxley guidelinesAssist external auditors with annual audits and quarterly reviewsCollaborate with internal auditors, gathering and organizing supporting documentation evidencing compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley guidelinesAssist with special projects, including acquisition and disposition related supportQualifications:
2+ years of related work experienceBachelor Degree in AccountingExperience with public filings, 10Q, 10K, etc.Computer savvyDesired Skills:
CPAMix of Public Accounting and Public Company experienceExperience with General Ledger and Consolidation systemsMicrosoft Office proficient
