Job Overview
The Sr. Financial Analyst provides financial, and systems support to the financial leaders in the corporation. In this role, the Sr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for establishing and performing financial analyses, supporting key business initiatives, including Equivalent Unit of Measure, Brand P&L reporting, A&P decision support tool, and ad hoc financial analysis.
Responsibilities
Establish Equivalent Unit of Measure metric, incorporate into Newell Brands technology landscape, establish processes for incorporating new products, define reporting, and provide analytical insights.
Support gross margin stratification reporting, provide detailed analyses and strategic insight into product rationalization.
Support Brand P&L implementation, reporting, and analyses into technology landscape.
Provide overhead reporting & analyses to drive strategic business decisions.
Develop and ensure consistent innovation financial tools and templates are used by the organization to enable consistent and repeatable reporting of New Product Development KPI’s.
Work collaboratively with cross functional departments to drive simplification efforts within our financial reporting tools, including addressing system challenges to enhance reporting capabilities through automation.
Support ERP conversions and ensure accuracy and timeliness of data.
Proactively drive enhancement to allow for continuous automation and streamlining of processes.
Support the company’s forecasting process to drive efficiencies and improvements in analytical flexibility; this includes, but is not limited to, potential technology solutions to enhance the current forecasting methodology.
Work with the BP&A, the business units, regional and central teams to develop critical reporting to support the sales and e-commerce organization.
Ensure full internal control measures are in place and complied with according to the guidelines of internal and external audit and more specifically, Sarbanes-Oxley.
Provide strong leadership and communication to the business.
Effectively collaborate with the business unit, international, and corporate finance teams.
Qualifications
Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
5 years of experience in finance/accounting, preferably in a Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) environment.
Experience with SAP and Hyperion products preferred.
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
Demonstrated accomplishments in the areas of finance and accounting.
Demonstrated ability to foster and develop strong finance teams that partner with business teams to drive growth.
Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities.
Ability to simplify and enhance processes.
