Assistant Professor
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain an effective working relationship with the Surgeon-in-Chief, department chairs, medical staff and hospital administration
Foster positive working relationships with liaisons from other services
Provide operative care for a broad spectrum of pediatric surgical conditions, including all facets of general pediatric surgery, and trauma and acute care surgery
Attend weekly clinic and team meetings
Shared call coverage within group
Contribute to clinical research and training of Pediatric Surgery residents and fellows
Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Medical Degree from an accredited School of Medicine
Completion of a Pediatric Surgery fellowship
Eligibility for board certification in pediatric surgery through the American Board of Surgery or equivalent international qualification
Ability to obtain license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado with prescriptive privileges
Preferred Qualifications:
Surgical critical care board eligibility/certification, desired but not essential
Demonstrated experience in leading high-performing, cross functional teams, conflict resolution, and project and change management
Demonstrated proficiency in pediatric burn surgery
Previous experience in a pediatric trauma program
Strong leadership skills, including interpersonal communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, problem resolution, decision-making and project/change management
Commitment to ensuring an excellent patient experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to gain and maintain membership in good standing of the medical staff of the hospital
Ability to communicate clearly as an integral member of a team
Motivate excellence and teamwork among providers and staff, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration
Experience in leading high-performing, cross functional teams with exemplary leadership in conflict resolution

Assistant Professor MD, - Pediatric/Burn Surgeon - 35263 Faculty
The Division of Pediatric Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine has available at the rank of for a surgeon focused specifically on burn in addition to general pediatric surgery. The position includes inpatient and outpatient medical care services, and resident training for general Pediatric Surgery Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO), Denver Health, St. Joseph's Medical Center, as well as other local campuses and Colorado Springs. All candidates will be expected to provide independent clinical services, supervise advance practice providers (APPs) in the provision of independent clinical services for patients, as well as teach and supervise residents and fellows. These duties will include inpatient and outpatient clinical services, as well as inpatient and outpatient surgeries at CHCO and its affiliated practice locations. The position is expected to dedicate 0.75 FTE to Pediatric Surgery and 0.25 FTE to Burn Surgery.
