Job Summary
The Seasonal Bus Driver will be responsible for safely operating a shuttle bus/van or passenger vehicle, transporting youth and community members to local community programs and activities. The driver will also assist Sewa Uusim in maintaining program needs such as picking up, dropping off, etc., as needed. This position is temporary/seasonal.Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Provides friendly and courteous service at all times to youth, staff and community members, particularly while transporting passengers, and ensures passengers are transported safely.Observes all Arizona driving regulations and laws, policies and proceduresPerforms inspection of bus/vehicle before and after operating vehicle and reports any vehicle faults.Observes all safety and security procedures, and when necessary determines appropriate action beyond guidelines and immediately reports any potentially unsafe conditions.Maintains trip logs and documents passenger count, route details, etc.Assists passengers getting in and out of bus if needed.Provide support to staff related to planned activity or events.Work as a Team member in provision of services to children, youth and families.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Minimum 1 year relevant work experience which includes operating a vehicle transporting passengersAbility to work flexible hours which may include nights and weekends for special eventsKnowledge of safe driving techniquesKnowledge of local, state, and federal policies and laws relative to pupil transportationKnowledge of principles of transportationEstablishing and maintaining effective working relationships with othersAbility to work flexible hours which may include nights and weekends for special eventsSuccessful driving record for past three (3) years; no DUI convictionsAbility to interact with community, staff, and youthFamiliar with Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions, and/or a willingness to learn.
Education, Certifications and Experience Required
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum one (1) year of relevant work experience which includes operating a vehicle transporting passengers. Must be able to pass random drug testingANDBilingual English/Spanish preferred;Special Requirements:
CPR and First Aid CertificationsMust be able to pass random drug testing.Must be 21 years or older.Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License.Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona CDL, Class B driver license passenger endorsement.Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain the Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination.
