Our Construction client is seeking an experienced, strategic CFO to join the leadership team during an exciting period of rapid growth. This role presents a unique opportunity to shape the financial future of an established construction company while working alongside a collaborative executive team.
About the Role
As CFO, you will report directly to the CEO and oversee multiple departments including Accounting, HR, Contracts, Purchasing, and Equipment/Fleet operations. You'll lead a seasoned team of managers and directors while managing critical relationships with banking partners, sureties, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic financial leadership and high-level decision making across all business unitsManagement of banking and surety relationships, including quarterly financial reportingOversight of company-wide financial operations, including monthly financial statements and shareholder reportingDirect supervision of Controller, Accounting Operations, Director of Finance, and managers of HR, Contracts, Purchasing, and FleetRisk management, including customer credit assessment, subcontractor approval, and insurance mattersContract review and negotiation, including property leases and equipment acquisitionsWorking capital and cash flow managementStrategic advisory to CEO on policy, financial, and tax mattersIdeal Candidate Profile
20+ years of progressive financial experience with 8+ years of construction industry experience as a Controller or CFOProven track record of stable, long-term career growthStrong strategic thinking ability with capacity to analyze issues from both detailed and high-level perspectivesExperience managing complex financial operations and multiple departmentsExcellence in relationship management with stakeholders including shareholders, banking partners, and suretiesDeep understanding of construction industry, financial operations and risk managementBS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance requiredWhat They Offer
