Summary/Objective The Stage Production Coordinator's primary duty will be to assist the Arena Stage Production Manager with the coordination of the stage equipment, labor and resources necessary for the production of successful events in the Arena. The position will also assist the Theatrical Stage Production Manager with the coordination of stage equipment, labor and resources necessary for the production of successful events in the Concert Hall and Theater. The scope of responsibilities includes coordination, technical input and operation of all house audio equipment and house lighting equipment for the facilities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Demonstrates understanding and full performance ability in each of the following:Assists in the maintenance and operations of house audio and house lighting equipment for the facilities.Main POC and operator for House Audio in Protective Stadium, Legacy Arena, Concert Hall and Theater.Operate House Lights and House Sound in Stadium and Arena as assigned.Sets up and operates various sound and lighting equipment throughout the facilities as assigned.Assists Arena Stage Production Manager and Theatrical Stage Production Manager in coordinating labor calls.Assist in coordination of stage production activities in Arena, Stadium, Concert Hall & TheaterOperation of BJCC house sound and lighting equipment and resources during events.Knowledgeable of Dante Routing System.Experience assisting with audio and productions of live events.Knowledgeable with the equipment required to produce audio and lighting productions of live events such as setting up and using digital audio consoles, lighting consoles, motor controls etc.Coordinating and giving direction to stagehand and production crews.Work in multiple venues across the campus including Arena, Stadium, Concert Hall, Theater, Exhibit Halls & Meeting Space as assigned.Performs other duties as required.Competencies

Work Environment

This position may have a moderate to extensive stress level associated with dealing with crowds of public visitors. The environment is mainly indoors, however position may be required to work outdoors and exposed to the elements (heat, rain, etc.). Potential hazards involving high places, working under structures such as lighting equipment and beams.

Physical Demands

Position requires lifting, climbing, carrying, bending, stooping, squatting and kneeling for extended periods of time. Extensive walking and or standing. Ability to lift up to 50-pound items with or without assistance, while maintaining good balance. Must be flexible enough to reach above shoulder level and be able to push and pull for extended periods of time. Ability to climb ladders. Ability to work in high places such as catwalks.

Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position; hours of work must be flexible and varied to meet the demands of the events of the facility. Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours including day, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum three (3) years related knowledge, experience and skills in structured stage production environment.College Degree preferred or Technical School / Vocational School Diploma. with equivalent education and experience in Audio Engineering, Mass Communications or similar discipline.Familiar with Dante show controls systems is preferred.Experience with theatrical or live performance technical operations and equipment.Valid State of Alabama Driver LicenseAdditional Eligibility Qualifications

Demonstrates excellent time management and organizational skills with an attention to details.Ability to work ethically and maintain confidentiality.Must possess superb verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly speak and write Business English.Knowledgeable of the practices, procedures, methods of audio/visual and production management in a large, modern, computerized facility.Knowledge of the occupational hazards and all necessary safety precautions.Capable of being a self-starter, working unsupervised after being instructed on tasks.Knowledgeable with the operations audio/video production equipment and software.Must have excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to strategically and critically think, be creative, use good judgment, problem solve, plan and coordinate programs.
