ArtsQuest is in search of the following: Reports to: Director of Production and Production Manager Direct Reports: Part Time Production Staff Position Overview: The Technical Specialist will oversee the part-time staff directly on a daily basis. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing our current equipment inventory, as well as organizing the equipment across the campus. Before and after events this person will handle equipment, logistics and be responsible for ensuring equipment is returned and maintained after an event. This person must be able to engineer audio and/or lighting consoles for live events. The Director and Manager will rely on the Production Technical Coordinator to implement the various event set-ups across campus. The Production Technical Coordinator will communicate to the Director and Manager logistical challenges, equipment damage, purchase requests. Note: This position supports live music venues (ArtsQuest Center Musikfest Caf, Levitt Pavilion, Palette and Pour, Blast Furnace Room, Town Square, Banana Factory Arts and Cultural Center, etc.), indoor and outdoor festivals and events, corporate and private events and performs live concert mixing and all the duties listed above. No studio experience is required. Requirements Responsibilities: Crew chief. Lead stagehand on events. Stage, lighting, audio production set up and tear down. Audio engineer for live events. Lighting engineer for live events Artist and client support. Research new technology and implement new technical solutions. Maintain and repair production equipment. The lead on MFC production room flips. Will oversee the stage adjustments and coordinate with other departments. This includes stages at Visitor Center, Pallet and Pour, and Levitt Pavilion. Purchase expendable items like tape, rope, lamps, gel, batteries. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 3-5 years active production experience to include but is not limited to: Experience in set up and tear down of stage, sound, lighting, equipment. Ability to read and comprehend room diagrams. Experience at Monitors and Front of House. Experience with AVID Profile, SC48, Digico SD12, and S21 Audio Consoles. Experience with Avolites Lighting Consoles. General understanding of lighting for theatre, corporate events, concerts. Solid technical ability and troubleshooting skills. Carpentry skills are a plus. Willing to share knowledge and mentor other employees. Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with employees, professional musicians, customers, artists, technicians and volunteers with diplomacy and patience. Experience with data entry and proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office programs. Google applications such as: Google Docs, Google Drive etc. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends and holidays when needed. Corporate experience; setting up systems, computers, presentations, mics, lights, sound, etc. Flexibility/versatility in doing whatever it takes to get the job done. A valid driver's license and safe driving record. Bilingual English and another language are a plus. The employee is required to lift up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation. Employees may be required to travel between our facilities, all within 1 mile of one another using reliable transportation. Employees may be required to travel offsite for business purposes as needed. Other Duties: This is a part-time position that works throughout the year during concerts, festivals and events as needed; hours fluctuate depending on our scheduled events.
