About the Collaborating PhysicianDr. John C. Cuellar, MDDr. John C. Cuellar is an orthopedist in Bay Shore, New York and is affiliated with Good Samaritan University Hospital. He received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and has been in practice between 11-20 years. Dr. John C. Cuellar has expertise in treating knee joint injury, bursitis, arthritis, among other conditions - see all areas of expertise.

Performing comprehensive and problem focused history and physical exams, interpret and correlate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Interpret and correlate subjective and objective data to formulate a differential diagnose and establish a working diagnosis. Formulate a treatment plan for Orthopaedic problems within scope of practice. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate. Exercise judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising Orthopedic surgeon or other health care professionals.Order, collect, and perform appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures, and studies including but not limited to blood and tissue specimens. Ordering or performing diagnostic studies such as but not limited to EMG, electrocardiogram, compartment pressure measurements, and x-ray examinations including special x-ray examinations CT, MRI, and bone scans etc.Order, prescribe, dispense, and administer Medication, orthosis, orthotics, braces and other Orthopaedic devices as may be allowed by state legislation.Evaluate, screen and council patient on health maintenance and promote utilization of community resources. Design, conduct and/or participate in research studies, manage databases, and perform quality assurance.Perform histories and examinationsOrder and interpret diagnostic testsPrescribe medications and therapyInjection of jointsFracture and post-surgical management; cast application/removal and wound care.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited PA program; Master's preferredCurrent NYS Physician Assistant license and registrationBLS/ACLS certificationNCCPA board certification is requiredInfection Control certificationCompletion of a child abuse recognition courseDEA required upon hireHave excellent communication and be a team playerPossess strong clinical skills

Pay Range

USD $66.55 - USD $89.37 /Yr.
