The

Director of Facilities

will provide strategic management and leadership in the daily Wu Yee's facility operations. This position will effectively leverage resources and ensure that Wu Yee's practices safeguard the financial health, general wellbeing of the organization and build capacity to accomplish Wu Yee's mission. The Director of Facilities will ensure that all Wu Yee facilities meet the environmental health and safety requirements, that they are secure, culturally responsive, and are maintained in accordance with federal and state licensing regulations. S/he will develop a recurring preventive maintenance program, assist in project management of any new development projects, and oversee the work of contractors.

The Director of Facilities will supervise facilities operation, safety and emergency programs, greening, new project development and assist the leadership team with business development and duties as required. This position will make a strategic contribution to Wu Yeethrough operational enhancements that improve quality, enhance safety and lower costs while maintaining a high level of quality service delivery.

Serve as a knowledgeable steward of Wu Yee's resources bringing proactive leadership and guidance to the entire organization.Professionally and effectively represent the agency in external meetings to build visibility and increase credibility for Wu Yee's expertise.Oversee Wu Yee facilities at all locations and manage all company activities related to facilities.Oversee the development, design and construction management for new projectsAssist CFO with forecasting the immediate and long-term facility cash flow needs.Assist office management with the significant purchases of copiers, computers, Voice/IT infrastructure, printers, and office furniture and associated service providers.Ensure that all sites are well resourced, compliant with licensing regulations, and operating at the highest standards of professional appearance and quality.Ensure all facilities are in compliance with California State Child Care licensing requirements, Head Start Performance Standards, State Fire Marshal requirements, and state and local fire codes.Oversee the physical infrastructure including facilities maintenance, office allocation, building renovations and upgrades.Assist CFO with lease negotiations and help with lease renewal communications as needed.Oversee planning and assist the Health Manager with the implementation of Wu Yee's safety, emergency, and security programs.Oversee the building maintenance procedures, vendor management, address facility complaints from Staff, Federal, State and City regulators and assist with the resolution of significant issues as needed.Assist the Human Resources department with matters involving ADA compliance, ergonomics and workplace safety programs.Maintain a positive relationship with staff, vendors, funders and others as needed.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

Have a general understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, electrical systems, plumbing, roofing, carpentry, security, and fire life safety systems.Proven track record of success with organizational change within a growing organization.Experience with planning and implementing facility budgets.Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiations and conflict resolution.Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask.Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented.Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive.Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively interface with senior management and staff.Proven track record in new project development, preconstruction, design and construction management.Knowledge of facilities management, licensing requirements and building/ADA codes.Knowledge of contracts, insurance and leases.Adequate computer skills.Understanding of sustainable and environmentally safe practices.Understanding of safety and emergency programs.Must be able to lift 30 pounds.Ability to work effectively with individuals from various ethnic, socioeconomic, educational and cultural backgrounds.Passion for Wu Yee's mission.Education Requirements

BA/BS degree in facilities management or related field, or related field and three years of progressive responsibilitiesOr AA degree from an accredited college or technical school in facilities management or related field and five years of progressive responsibilities.Compensation and Benefits:
