Position Overview:We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Underwriter to join our Energy Casualty team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding the company's reach throughout the Southeast, with a specific emphasis on Southeast producers. This role requires a deep understanding of casualty lines of coverage and a strong background in energy underwriting is a plus.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain a profitable Energy Casualty portfolio, focusing on strategic growth and market penetration.Cultivate relationships with key Southeast producers to drive new business opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.Conduct thorough underwriting analysis to assess risks and determine appropriate coverage terms.Prepare and issue indications, quotations, and binders with precision and attention to detail.Monitor and manage the new business pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups and conversions.Actively solicit submissions from brokers and clients, demonstrating a proactive approach to business development.Provide exceptional service and support to clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to inform underwriting decisions.Contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and strategies to enhance the competitiveness of our Energy Casualty offerings.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced degrees or professional designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are a plus.Minimum of 3 years of experience underwriting casualty lines of coverage, including Worker's Compensation, General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Excess Liability.Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and develop tailored solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers.Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Proficiency in underwriting software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
