We are currently recruiting for a Nurse Supervisor I to function as a Clinical Nurse Manager for 2nd shift at Whitaker Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF).

This position is responsible for providing supervision of the residential services section of Whitaker PRTF. The position assumes a leadership role in primarily supervising Youth Program/Education Assistant (YPEA) staff members but will also assist in the supervision of nursing staff as well. This position coordinates activities between defined areas and provides supervisory input into scheduling, programmatic treatment and other medical and residentially based decisions. This position also provides clinical oversight of YPEA's on all shifts and to the nursing staff as needed, to include monitoring residents for physical and psychological status, administering medication and evaluation of effectiveness, monitoring and documenting seclusions and restraints, and providing ongoing resident education regarding health, self-care, socialization skills and medication utilization. This position reports to the Residential Nurse Director.

The normal work hours for this position are 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday - Friday however flexibility is required to meet hospital needs. This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. This position is designated

About Whitaker PRTF : If you are looking to make a difference in the lives of adolescents who have severe emotional and behavioral needs, consider the Clinical Nurse Manager opportunity at Whitaker Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) in Butner, NC. The Residential Department is responsible for providing 24-hour nursing and residential are for the Whitaker PRTF residents. This includes assessment of each residents' needs specific to their age. Residential care is planned interventions that are performed to assure those needs are met and evaluated for effectiveness of nursing and programmatic care. Whitaker is an 18-bed, secure residential treatment facility operated by DHHSSAS. The facility provides residential care, support and educational services for 12 boys and 6 girls with complex behavioral, emotional, psychological, and neurological disorders. It also provides community liaison support services to residents and their families with a staffing complement of 65 full-time clinical, educational, residential and support positions.

Qualified applicants must possess and application clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:

Considerable knowledge of the principles and practice of nursing.Must have valid driver's license.Physical requirements will be discussed during the interview process but, at a minimum, include the ability to obtain and maintain NCVI and CPR certification and the ability to lift 50 pounds.Management Prefers:Experience in a charge nurse role or previous supervisory experience including evaluating work performance, preferably in an inpatient setting with children/adolescents with behavioral, emotional, psychological, or neurological disorders.Experience planning, organizing, directing and evaluating nursing care.
